every time, i tells ya.. i adopt a new piece of tech, and weeks later it drops in price/gets refreshed :). of course that's inherent to any cutting edge technology, but it just makes me want the new shiny thing, and not my old thing. i know i can make rash decisions at times, but don't worry, i'm fully aware how silly trading up would be.. but a man can dream, can't he?

MAN.. it's been so long since i started reading this, i don't even remember from where i found this blog to give it/them the proper recognition. I spent the better half of today [yesterday, its Tuesday now] reading this blog i found, Waiter Rant. The name says it all, but it isn't just full of rants; mostly vignettes of day to day happenings while working as a waiter. Mostly funny, sometimes philosophical, always entertaining, even touching at times.. Now, i've never worked in the food industry, but he writes in a way that's easily identifiable. And i'll tell you one thing: reading this guy's ENTIRE ARCHIVE of posts was far more engaging than zombie-ing out to the Food Network all day.
[altho to be completely honest, it was still on in the background.. alton was on rerun tho so no problem anyway]
so yeah! Go, read; you'll laugh, you'll cry, you'll eventually get hungry from his food descriptions. Four stars!

Video games are a cruel mistress. I had a post in pre-production illustrating the redonkulousness of this, but I had some business to tend to this afternoon and the post didn't fully congeal, so it stayed in the 'draft' pile.

4 hours later..

I'm back home from business-ing, combing thru my inter-nets, add a bit to the draft:
"..and sheesh, add at LEAST another 139.96 for 2 more controller+batt pack sets, cuz you KNOW I'll need those too.. ..shoot, if they're all wireless, will there be games that will let you have +4 humans playing?? Imagine the possibilities.. even just Madden?"
BUT- I still don't finish the post, and it's out to dinner + errands..

And the posse end up hanging out and closing up shop with 'wolf at GameStop. Naturally, my own admitted lack of willpower and half-hearted reasoning find me doing exactly what I said I shouldn't be doing; I'm all pre-ordered up for the "HardcorePremium" package, and uhh.. well it's 3 games now, isn't it.
I doubt it would be this way if all these games weren't so community-based.. nothing like kicking a friend/family member's ass from miles and miles away. And It'll serve me well once my new house is built.

Brand loyalty is a bitch. You know how you find that ONE cut of jeans that fits *just* so? Yeah. That's two of them in the screenshot.. sitting in the Shopping Bag.. mocking me. I'm very simple; t-shirt and jeans is my uniform of choice.. 99% of the time that's what you'll find me in unless I get really fancy and throw a polo on, or that rare occasion where a suit and tie is required. T-shirts, hell; you can find anywhere [most recently, here]. But jeans.. I've been brand loyal for YEARS, because they've got that one cut that wears on me just to my liking, that no other company can approach.. and trust me, I've tried 'em all. [That's what a high school career spent in retail clothing sales will do to you.] So a couple months ago when this company pulled yet another redesign, I geekily cheered.. maybe they finally got their shit together..? From their old old design that was a horribly buggy, horizontal scrolling, javascript error riddled nightmare, to the previous better, but sometimes *more* buggy, javascript error riddled nightmare, came this current, seemingly clean, straightforward design.. that turned out to be a randomly buggy, and still javascript error riddled nightmare. This is no page-loading fluke either; I tried that 'Live Help' four times now, and this is the BEST result. I even moved off firefox back to IE for that bs.

Was I too foolish to hope?
It would seem so.


Drive to the mall, you say? Buy me a car or come pick me up.. y'all know I'm borderline agoraphobic anyway ;) [But that's another show post..]

Well here it is, the main room of the Fellowship of Shadows' guild hall. That's right, after a bunch of hard work from.. mostly Vorn/Kojak and Prime, right? [I know *I* hadn't managed to contribute much.. ok, ANY].. our little guild has managed to buy us a home. That's Kojak /flex ing in the center.. after clicking the pic, look for "all sizes" above the pic to see it bigger. Incidentally, this is now serving as my desktop background :). Now we all need to hurry up and ascend, hit 20, cap some more elites, and beat some other Guilds DOWN. FoS WHAT!
