EDIT: started dl'ing at about 9:30p, and still at 84% now. and 'wolf informs me that theyre extending it for another four days, adding a weekend to the beta.
good move on their behalf..
i still wanna be playing RIGHT NOW tho.

EDIT 2: got in, lots of matchmaking problems, lots of resetting. halo still rocks, played til 2:45a. VIP isnt what i thought it was.. not bad after all. still suck at team slayer, but not bad at the land grabs/ assaults/ etc. never hit a 16player or ctf.. mongoose is fun. mancannons are interesting. spike grenades rock. that laser rules. adapter real fast to directional for team chat instead of white button for team chat. sucks i lost frostsoldier/frostmerc and lonewolf just before 2, and played a bit with the guy from sushi station.. good times.

wow halo 3 hits, and im ready for bed *before* i normally go. heh

39% want Bush impeached? In 1999, only 32% wanted Clinton impeached

Blast from the past: Clinton was impeached by the House with only 32% of the public against him.

frustrated

so spring is pretty much here.. well, not so much here, as skipped over as usual and well into summer weather.. but that's besides the point. this time of year has got me once again in the home improvement mood. phase one of the deck is in the planning stages, to be built within the week or so [,yay]. interior paint colors are.. close; i wanna get some little quart cans and throw up some splotches of color to see what works. i've been delving back into the piles of magazines i've got laying around for inspiration, and my mind wanders............ eventually i'm staring at an architectural landmark that i know is nearby, but never looked up.. turns out i'm under 7mi. away from the Farnsworth House! cool, right?
until i delve further into the website..
$20 a person? well, i'd dig it..
hmm, ok, its only got stairs, man..
but i'm sure i can figure something out *at* the site, if it's just those two low sets..
and then, oh.

Handicap Access

Currently, the house is not handicap accessible. Please note the tour begins at the Visitors Center which is about a quarter of a mile walk to the Farnsworth House.

ummmyeah.
well, theres the tankchair..

blurgh.

back to paint colors...

the day digg died

utter craziness. ive been folowing this one all day.. some user on DIGG got a DMCA request to takedown the HD DVD hex encryption key [09 F9 11 02 9D 74 E3 5B D8 41 56 C5 63 56 88 C0 fyi, as seen here, from a much larger entity than myself..], and so that user got his story up on DIGG to spread the word to the community. and then his story disappeared. and a story asking where the story went up. and disappeared. lather rinse repeat.. then some other DIGGer found that the HD DVD group is a DIGG sponsor.. and all hell broke lose. fake story on fake story pops onto the site, using "clever" stories to somehow integrate the code.. the code is now a user on myspace gathering friends.. one or two went as far as registering domain names with said code. and it spread like wildfire- gizmodo, slashdot, and reddit have all covered the "user riot" by now, and wikipedia eventually banned the code from its site, with the corresponding DIGG post saying "is freedom of speech on the net dead?" [or something to that effect]. the DIGG owners at first tried to explain themselves to no [if not opposite] effect here, citing Intellectual Property rights; and eventually gave in to the angry mob here. eventually the first 4 full pages of news were filled with such stories. and now, not 10min ago, just after 11pm pacific, 1am central- DIGG, the web 2.0 user supported monster, went down. i'm pretty sure it was by the owners, and not the rush of users and gawkers, but it was a weird occurrence nonetheless. score one for the huddled [, geeky,] masses. :)
disclosure: yeah, that's the code.. i'm just an ass. NO clue wtf to do with it. pls dont take my google account! kthxbai

update: 1:20a as i finish this, and it's back up, all the [remaining?] stories intact; still 4 full pages til you hit a non-HD DVD story. funny thing is, users are stating "i'm officially done with DIGG!", but you KNOW these people are worse than me [ME, do you KNOW me?], and they'll be back to watch the aftermath. "digital revolt" as an act of civil disobedience.. eh, sure, why not?

NERDS.
